News Facts

To support its mission of making the practice of medicine more efficient, effective and enjoyable, Wolf Medical Systems has increased caregiver mobility by implementing Oracle’s desktop virtualization solution, specifically Oracle’s Sun Ray Clients, low-cost devices that are ideal for displaying server-hosted virtual desktops.
Wolf Medical Systems is a leading provider of electronic medical records (EMR) software for physician offices and medical clinics across Canada.
By integrating its EMR software with Sun Ray Clients and Sun Ray Software, Wolf Medical Systems is able to provide doctors and other care providers with a powerful productivity tool that enables them to optimize time with patients.
Clinical workflow is improved through integrated smart card readers within the Sun Ray Clients that allow physicians using the Wolf Medical Suite EMR system a “right-where-you-left-off” experience when moving between clinic work stations and examination rooms.
The smart card reader technology also helps ensure the security, privacy and accuracy of patient records as doctors and nurses can move between workstations and simply insert their smart card to reconnect to their session, while patient data remains safely on servers in the datacenter. This reduces the need for physical records and streamlines security procedures.
An alternative to desktop and laptop computers, Sun Ray Clients simplify maintenance and enhance security by allowing Wolf Medical Systems to cost effectively manage its EMR service across more than a thousand clients from a central location, while eliminating the need for doctors to invest time in managing desktops, operating systems or data backup.
By reducing the problems associated with desktop deployments, the Sun Ray Clients also enable Wolf Medical Systems to reduce the total cost of ownership for its customers.
With no moving parts, high reliability and ultra-low energy consumption, Sun Ray Clients enable healthcare organizations to reduce power costs and environmental impact.
Combined with the significant enhancements in patient management and clinic workflow enabled by Wolf Medical’s EMR solution, the Sun Ray Clients have helped physicians improve patient outcomes while saving up to 20 minutes per day per physician and staff member.
Sun Ray Clients have been a key part of Wolf Medical Systems’ solutions since 2009.
