News Facts
Oracle Corporation Malaysia and Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) have signed an agreement to develop a training program that supports the Malaysian government’s plan to turn the country into a regional hub for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO).
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dato' Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri, President, Universiti Teknikal MARA Sdn. Bhd. and K. Raman, Managing Director, Oracle Corporation Malaysia.
Under the agreement, UniKL MIAT will combine their expertise in aviation technology with the Oracle Academy’s Enterprise Business Applications program to prepare students for in-demand aviation IT careers.
The Oracle Academy’s Enterprise Business Applications program provides university computer science departments and business schools with Oracle applications software, hosted technology and curriculum for teaching use. Through this comprehensive set of resources, students gain hands-on experience with IT applications that are used in a variety of industries.
Students enrolled in UniKL MIAT will have access to specialised Oracle application modules, including Oracle Complex Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (Oracle cMRO) and an MRO service application for aerospace and defence manufacturers.
Students who complete the degree program may be eligible for specialised Oracle certifications and will be well prepared to enter the aviation technology marketplace.
Currently, 5,400 students in 34 institutions across Malaysia benefit from their participation in the Oracle Academy. In the future, Oracle plans to expand the program to include up to 25 new institutions and 9,000 students.
