(TSX/NYSE: SLF) announced today that Gary Comerford, Senior Vice-President, International, was honoured with the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC)’s 2008 President’s Award for his role in strengthening the trade relationship between Canada and India.

"Gary’s vision, leadership and commitment over the past decade have been key to the strong Indo-Canadian economic partnership that we enjoy today," said Sunil Jagasia, President, ICCC. "He worked tirelessly to help establish strong connections to the Indian business community."

Comerford received the award on June 14 at the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Gala, where 10 other Canadians were recognized for their positive contribution to the Indo-Canadian community.
