The music scholarship is among the most important private initiatives promoting musical students in Norway. The musicians who receive the scholarship are working at a very high musical level. This scholarship programme is a collaborative effort between RWE Dea, the Research Council of Norway and the Society for German Scientific Organisations (Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft).

“Its purpose is to contribute to the exchange of culture and knowledge between Norway and Germany,” says RWE Dea’s CEO Dr. Georg Schöning. The programme is governed by a scholarship committee, led by Harald Herresthal, professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and financed by RWE Dea’s Music Foundation.
