"PotashCorp continues to be an industry leader in financial reporting," judges wrote in CICA's 2007 Corporate Awards book. "This reader-friendly, well organized report is a model for other companies and provides a wealth of information."

In addition to being named the best corporate reporter in the mining sector, PotashCorp received Honourable Mentions for its electronic disclosure and its sustainable development reporting when assessed against companies in all sectors.

"The role transparency has in building shareholder trust cannot be underestimated," said Wayne Brownlee, Executive Vice President and CFO, PotashCorp. "Our top-notch corporate reporting program is a tool for improving our performance. In fact, we believe that transparency makes us function more effectively."

Judges who reviewed websites in the electronic disclosure category wrote in the awards book that most companies surveyed did a poor job communicating and presenting essential information. PotashCorp, they noted, rose above the crowd.

"There is an abundance of industry and corporate content," they wrote. "There is also significant depth in virtually every aspect of the content, which gives the user a good understanding of the company."

The 2007 CICA Awards reviewed the top 50 companies per sector. To qualify, companies must have a market cap over $200 million, be on the TSX by March 31, 2007 and be a Canada corporation. Judging groups included the CICA, the Toronto CFA Society, Deloitte, Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
