Rueil-Malmaison (France), November 20, 2009 – At the Actionaria investor fair on November 20, Schneider Electric was awarded the 2009 Grand Prix de l’Actionnariat Salarié award by the French Federation of Employee Share Owners (FAS).

The Grand Prix is awarded to the company with the best employee ownership practices among those in the CAC 40 and SBF 250 indexes and, starting this year, among the unlisted companies that have chosen to participate. The winners are selected after examining a questionnaire sent to all CAC 40 and SBF 250 companies, as well as to unlisted companies that have expressed their interest.

A total of 4.12% of Schneider Electric SA’s capital is held by its employees, representing 5.75% of the voting rights. The Group has nearly 30,000 employee shareholders, which corresponds to one-quarter of its global workforce.

Schneider Electric intends to extend the benefits of its employee ownership plan to as many employees as possible in the coming years (except in countries where the practice is prohibited by law).
